An 18-year old youth, who had gone to gather his flock of cattle, sustained serious injuries when a bomb exploded at Torbung Phougakchao Ekhai Mamang Khoingouching-khong under Moirang Police Station at around 3.30 pm on September 17.The victim has been identified as Leishangthem Bidyasagar (18) s/o L Horimohon of Terabasha village, Koilaser district of Tripura, but presently staying at the Torbung Phougakchou Ikhai Mamang Leikai residence of his brother in-law Kshetrimayum Tomba.
The bomb exploded after one of the cattle accidentally stepped on it.
Bomb splinters hit all over his body including both the thighs, two sides of the stomach, and ankle of the right leg.
Bidyasagar is presently undergoing treatment at Churachandpur District Hospital.
The bomb splinter from his ankle has not yet been removed.
In connection with the incident, a public meeting was held at Phougakchao Ekhai Mamang Leikai today.
The meeting demanded to know the persons or the organisations responsible for the blast and payment of compensation to the injured person by the Government within September 25.
