Imphal, May 19: An Assistant Engineer of IFCD (Dolaithabi Project) Khomdram Subash (59) of Haobam Marak Irom Leikai abducted by some unidentified armed men has been rescued and the abductors apprehended by Imphal West District Police.

Briefing media persons today, Imphal West SP Clay Khongsai conveyed that acting on information provided by people about abduction of Subash from Kwakeithel area, police immediately swung into action and succeeded in rescuing the victim from Naral Konjil.

After Subash provided description of his abductors, police conducted search operation in the area with the help of 24 AR during which one KCP bail-out Sagolsem Momon alias Angouba alias Ibochouba alias Yamung (50) of Nongada Makha Leikai, currently staying at Langthabal Kunja was apprehended.

Momon was hiding after changing his clothes.

He was released on bail on May 17. Acknowledging the positive results due to timely information provided by public, the SP further appealed to the people to inform police in time of any criminal and unlawful activities.
