A former cadre of the RPF was pulled up by the outfit today for procuring contract work from the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in the name of the outfit.
It is reported that a work order pertaining to building construction of RIMS with the estimated cost of Rs 1,13,77,317 was procured by Yenkhom Bijoy alias Surjit (29) s/o Y Iboton of Chanam Sandrok along with three other accomplices in the name of the RPF.
Parading Bijoy before media persons at a place in Bishnupur district today, a spokesman of the outfit informed that all the four have been pulled up and interrogated.
He said that Yengkhom Bijoy alias Surjit was earlier a cadre of RPF and had completed basic military training in 1997.He was apprehended by Assam Rifles and police and imprisoned.
He again joined the outfit after his release from jail in 2002.He left the outfit in 2005 without the consent of the party authority, disclosed the spokesman.
As for his three accomplices, all of them were set free after giving them stern warning not to get themselves involved again in such anti-party activities following confirmation that they were not very much involved in the foul play, he informed.
The spokesman stated that Yengkhom Bijoy would be warned against doing such activities in future and that severe actions would be initiated against him in case he defies the warning.
Warning all the individuals/groups misusing the name of RPF/PLA, he disclosed that the outfit has been keeping a strict vigil on all such impostors and miscreants.
The spokesman cautioned that if the impostors and all those individuals misusing the name of the outfit continue with their activities any further, RPF would take up befitting actions against them and punish them accordingly.
The work order seized from Bijoy would be handed over to the Department concerned of the outfit, further mentioned the spokesman.
