Owners of the land that have already been acquired by the Government and for which compensations have been paid for expansion of the Tulihal Airport are likely to be evicted very soon.
A high level meeting of the Government chaired by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh was held today afternoon to discuss issues related to expansion of the existing Tulihal airport.
After a detailed discussion, which was also attended by officials of Public Works Dept, Transport Department, DC Imphal West, Works Minister, Transport Minister, etc, the Chief Minister issued necessary instructions to officials concerned to evict the land owners who have been given the compensation but have not yet moved out.
The meeting also discussed matter related to early completion of the construction work on the diversion roads of the existing ones which would now be running within the Airport complex and gave necessary instruction in this regard.
Furthermore, the meeting discussed sanctioning of the required fund for payment of compensations to those land owners who are yet to be compensated.
