Chandel ADC Chairman inspects

Imphal, June 02 2012: Chandel ADC Chairman Lhukhosei Zou together with Members of the Council inspected progress of different development works being implemented under DRDA at different places in Chandel district.

Lhukhosei Zou who is also the DRDA Chairman inspected the village courts built under BRGF and NREGS at Unapat and Tokpaching village.

He also made a direct assessment of the progress of works implemented under NREGS.

After inspecting the pathetic condition of Unapat Primary School, the Chairman's team was told that only three kinds of text books have been distributed to students although it is almost mid-way to the current academic session.

Following collapse of Tokpaching Primary School building, the village community hall has been serving as the school building.

The team was satisfied on observing the guest house being constructed with due emphasis on the qualitative aspect at Kholim village under BRGF.

They also scanned sites suitable for construction of a community hall at Zou Veng under Chakpikarong Block at the cost of Rs seven lakhs.

Together with inspecting the ongoing drain construction work at Lonpi Khunou the Chairman and his team made a direct assessment of the initiatives taken up at Nungpan village to a build a Government Primary School anew and a community hall of which the estimated cost is Rs seven lakhs.

While observing the progress of village court being constructed at Leingangching village, the villagers approached the ADC Chairman to build a community hall, build the PHSC building anew as it has been ravaged by storm and also to develop the village playground.

Speaking to media persons who covered the inspection tour, Chairman Lhukhosei Zou development works have started at the grassroots level since the Autonomous District Councils were reinstated after a gap of 20 years.

All the shortfalls and requirements would be addressed in consultation with the people, he said.

The DRDA Executive Director was also present throughout the inspection tour.
