Imphal, February 13: The NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region has refuted the accusations made by the NSCN-IM�s Zeliangrong Region in the media a few days ago with regard to the killing of one Katathon Remmei of the NSCN-IM.

The Information and publicity secretary of the NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region stated that Katathon Remmei wa not killed in cold blood as alleged by the NSCN-IM�s CAO Karu-chang.

The NSCN-K, Zeliang-rong Region said that Katathon Remmei and his friend were arrested by the former for mobilising against the NSCN-K.�After arresting the NSCN-IM cadres we wanted to ask certain things to them.

We asked them to stand but Katathon Remmei tried to run away so our boys opened fire in which he was killed,� stated the statement, adding, �at the time of the arrest, we found a short-gun without a magazine but only two bullets from Katathon Remmei.� The statement then said that the other cadre of the NSCN-IM had been released by the NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region owing to the appeal made by the villagers not to kill the arrested cadres.� Katathon Remmei would have been released too had he not tried to run away,� said the outfit.

Giving reason for the arrest of the two NSCN-IM cadres, the NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region stated that Katathon Remmei alongwith his friends campaigned in parts of Zeliangrong Region warning the villagers not to join, support or help the NSCN (K).

He had taken a lead role in mobilising in the region giving stern warning to the villagers saying that those family members whose kith and kins had joined the NSCN-K would not be spared, stated the NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region.

The statement also come down heavily on the CAO of the NSCN-IM�s Zeliangrong Region.

It said that what destructive things had done by Felix of the NSCN-K in the Zeliangrong Region that the NSCN-IM�s CAO had pin-pointed out to the former.

�The so called NSCN-IM�s Zeliangrong Region CAO, one Karuchang is an illiterate and uses thumb impression to sign documents.

What does the NSCN-IM�s CAO of the Zeliangrong Region knows about the Zeliangrong history? And what authority does he have to diktat the Zeliangrong people? We challenge any of the NSCN-IM�s Zeliangrong Region leaders to come out at any platform for debate on the Zeliangrong matters/history,� blasted the NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region, adding, �these so called Zeliangrong Region�s NSCN-IM leaders are blindly leading the Zeliangrong community to a doom-spot.� The statement further stated that if Felix has to give a press statement it does not mean that it is the press note of the signatory but on behalf of the outfit in the region.

�Does NSCN-IM�s Karuchang think that the press statements of Kraiba Chawang were the statements alone of the signatory i.e Mr.Chawang? Actually Mr.Chawang was making statements on behalf of the NSCN-IM being an MIP kilonser.

We do not accused at anytime to Kraibo Chawang personally but to the outfit.

Had Mr.Karuchang being an educated person, he should have understood all these matters as to how things work,� questioned the NSCN-K, Zeliangrong Region.
