Imphal, January 08: Thoubal District police commandos reportedly arrested two cadres of the banned PLA including a bomb expert from Wangjing Bazar during the last 24 hours.

According to police source, the arrested cadre identified as lance corporal Thangjam Ronibala alias Monica alias Kavita (27), d/o Mukta of Ukhongsang Mayai Leikai joined the outfit in June 1999 through one Sgt.

Major Yaisna of Lamshang when the latter was serving as a lance corporal.

Ronibala is a bomb expert working under Sgt.

Major Soro of PLA Divn I, and was assigned to lay booby-traps in between Thoubal and Kakching along NH 39, the police claimed.

The commandos recovered one M-20 pistol with three live rounds of ammunition from the possession of Ronibala at the time of her arrest at 12.30 pm today, the source added.

The police commandos also reportedly arrested another PLA cadre identified as Sagolsem Netaji alias Luwangthoi alias Romesh (22), s/o Ibomcha of Yairipok Bamon Leikai at around 11.20 am yesterday from Wangjing.
