Imphal, November 20:
The Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) has called a general strike with effect from 7 pm tomorrow to 5 pm of November 22 to protest the questionable decision of the referee who conducted the quarter-final match of the Santosh Trophy between Manipur and Goa, which led to the exit of Manipur from the tournament.
The student body will also be hoisting black flags in all the playgrounds tomorrow.
Announcing this to mediapersons today evening, MSF president S Sanjoy said the move being made by AIFF to take up disciplinary action against four Manipuri players instead of rectifying the mistake committed would not be acceptable to any sensible person.
He also appealed to all the people to hoist black flags at the premises of their local clubs and households tomorrow.
Press, fire brigade, electricity, water supply and religious function would be exempted from the purview of the general strike, he informed.
