Imphal, September 06:
With apprehension looming over the possibility of some Government school teachers doctoring their service records to extend their age of superannuation, alterative arrangements for keeping the service records of the teachers at two/three different places are being considered.
According to an official source, keeping the service records of the teachers only at the Education Department provides the scope for doctoring the said service records to extend the retirement age of the teachers in connivance with unscrupulous officials of the department.
So the new arrangement for keeping the service records at two/three places is being mooted, the source informed.
The source said that the verification of the service records of the teachers to detect the fake appointment cases in the Education Department is almost finalised and two months salaries of the teachers with the exception of some whose appointments are doubtful have been released.
Compilation of the reports submitted by the Deputy Commissioners who conducted the verification drive in collaboration with the Zonal Education Officers concerned are under process currently.
Based on their reports, the Education department will be taking up the necessary course of action, the source added.
After the completion of the verification, which is expected to be over within the next one or two months, the process for storing the service records of the teachers at different places will start, added the source.
