Imphal, May 28: PREPAK has paid revolutionary salute to corporal Heisnam Thawan alias Ranjit alias Ngouba (26) s/o Ibopishak of Komlakhong who was shot dead by Army personnel at Sumkom Kuki village under Henglep Sub-Division on May 15 morning.

In a statement, the department of publicity and propaganda of the outfit informed that Thawan who was in civvies was on an errand duty, when the security personnel way laid and shot him dead.

The fact that the security personnel simply fired at a person in civvies without verifying his antecedents shows their trigger happy nature.

If Thawan happened to be a civilian, the Army would have heaped various false propaganda, the statement said.

The Army personnel handed body handed over to the body to the people of neighbouring Molcham village who in turned bury it.

The family members traced the body and found it on May 25 brought to its native Komlakhong today where the last rites was performed today, the statement informed, while expressing its gratitude to those villagers who extended their assistance in locating the body.

Thawan was a corporal belonging to the 6th batch of the Red Army of the outfit who lived up to the principles of the party, the statement added.
