Malaysian envoy arrive at Imphal

Imphal, August 25: To receive the car rally team led by Malaysian Deputy Defence Minister De Tuk Jainan Abidin Mohammed Jin, Deputy High Commissioner of the Malaysia High Commission Norlin Binti Othman arrived at Imphal today.

The car rally organised in commemoration of 50 years of independence was flagged off from Cape Town, South Africa in last week of August.

The team reportedly left Kohima yesterday.

Speaking to reporters at Imphal airport this afternoon, the Deputy High Commissioner informed that the rally team will cross into the neighbouring Myanmar through Moreh tomorrow.

The Malaysian Deputy Defence Secretary who is leading the car rally will arrive in Malaysia together with the team before August 30 to participate in the Malaysian Independence Day celebration on August 30.The Deputy High Commissioner will flag off the car rally for the Myanmar leg tomorrow.

Altogether 50 rallyist in 12 cars are taking part in the rally.
