Imphal, May 21:
While flaying Chief Minister O ibobi Singh for his remarks on introduction of NBSE syllabus in private educational institutions in four hill districts, United Naga Council and All Naga Students' Association Manipur cautioned any agencies acting at the behest of the Government from undertaking survey programme in the said districts.
Such element will be held responsible for any consequences and shall be strongly dealt with for disturbing peaceful atmosphere in Naga areas, asserted a joint statement of the bodies.
Reminding that decision to prescribe Nagaland Board syllabus in private institutes of the Naga hill districts is in pursuance of the November 4, 2005 'declaration of the Naga peoples convention', the statement alleged the State government in connivance with certain elements of attempting to subjugate democratic will of the indigenous people.
Referring to the CM's warning to authorities of private schools against embracing NBSE prescribed text-books, UNC and ANSAM described the comments as an 'expression of helplessness' due to Naga public's vigorous pursuit to unify its people.
asserting that the chief Minister need not brag when Nagas are pursuing a just cause, the bodies also said Nagas are free people and will decide their own future.
Nothing on earth can threaten and prevent Nagas from attaining their just cause and any destructive force will have to face consequences of their disruptive actions, it maintained.
