Imphal, Sep 19:
Former Chief Minister and State RJD unit president W Nipamacha was back at his elements as he regaled the people of Nambol with his witty metaphors and off the cuff remarks.
Addressing a gathering at Nambol Awang Leikai today, Nipamacha said that though Nambol is an Assembly Constituency no one from proper Nambol has ever been elected.
''This is a, shame," he said and urged the people to stop being pall bearers for once and learn how to sit on the throne.
(Dolai Pubagi Wakhandada Khanbiga-nu, Tongbasu Tambiyu).
Going on the offensive against the Congress led Government, Nipamacha questioned, "What has the Congress done for you? Why are the Congress MLAs acting like as if they are shelling out money from their own pockets when they release the old age pension? Are there no employees at the Social Welfare Department to release the old age pension? Does the Congress think the old age pension is their ticket to the next Assembly?" Training his guns on former MP Th Chaoba and local MLA N Loken, Mpamacha said that Loken was elected just to ensure the defeat of Chaoba.
Today Loken is busy piling up his personal wealth instead of working for the welfare of the people, charged the former Chief Minister.
The people should decide whether it is right to vote for the Congress this time or not, added Nipamacha.
MLA S Natum said that If Loken is elected again, he has no chance of making it to the Council of Ministers.
Chaoba is also a forgone loser, he further said.
