The RPF/PLA has categorically rejected report of para-military forces handing over five PLA activists arrested from different locations to Thoubal and Patsoi police stations.
Reacting to claims of 34 Assam Rifles and 22 Maratha Light Infantry regarding the arrest and handing over to State police, assistant chief of RPF's department of communication and publicity Churchil clarified that the said individuals are neither PLA cadres nor have any connection with the armed organisation.
As per report published in State dailies on May 13 and 15, the 34 AR had arrested Thiyam Manaobi s/o Th Ningthemjao, Thiyam Megha s/o Th Modhu and Ningthoujam joykumar s/o N Ibocha of Thiyam Mayai Leikai during search operation conducted in Thiyam Konjil.
The trio were handed over to Thoubal PS.
On May 14 afternoon personnel of 22 Maratha Light Infantry had apprehended Oinam Premjit (26) s/o Inaocha of Leimapokpam Awang Leikai and Naorem Inaobi alias Inaoba (29) of Leimapokpam Awang Leikai from Leimaram.
They were reportedly handed over to Patsoi PS.
