Three native nurses have brought laurels to the State winning awards and prizes at the Centenary Celebration of the Trained Nurses' Association of India (TNAI) held at Mumbai recently.
At the occasion, a Centenary Award was also presented to the president and founder member of TNAI Manipur Chapter L Ibohal Singh by former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam in recognition of his noble efforts and commitment towards revival of nursing movement in Manipur.
Addressing a press conference in this connection at its Uripok Khumanthem Leikai office here today, president of TNAI State Unit L Ibohal Singh informed that three nurses from Manipur received awards and prizes at the National level celebration held from November 4 to 7.The three nurses who have been decorated with awards and prizes are W Sorojini of RIMS Hospital, Ch Chaobi Devi of RIMS and Th Radheshyam Devi, a sister tutor health worker of Churachandpur.
Sorojini won first position for her poster presentation on 'Child delivery', Chaobi also won first position for her poster exhibition on 'Rescue from drowning' and Rasheshyam Devi won 3rd position for her presentation on 'Role of ASHA in National Rural Health Mission'.
The awards and the prizes were presented during the centenary celebration function held at Sri Shanmukhananda Auditorium, Sion Mumbai.
The theme of the celebration was 'Future of nursing Implications for nursing education, practice and research'.
