On disclosure of the Deputy Finance Secretary and a 2nd Lieutenant of PULF apprehended from Imphal airport yesterday, an RPG and a 303 rifle have been recovered by
police.
Deputy Finance Secretary of PULF s/s Lt Md Warish Khan (22) of Kyamgei Awang Leikai and 2nd Lt Md Illiyaj Khan (23) of Yairipok Wangkhem Phoudel were picked-up before boarding an Air Deccan flight (DN 664) on which the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Md Allaudin Khan, his wife and son were also among the passenger list.

Acting on the disclosure of the apprehended PULF cadres during interrogation, an RPG (M 13) and 303 rifle (no 1966) were recovered from Kyamgei Pal Ahanbi today at around 4:30 am.
The seized weapons were also displayed before media persons by Additional SP Th Radheshyam.
It is reported that the weapons were found buried underground after wrapping them with a green coloured polythene.
However, the shells of the RPG and magazine of the rifle were not there in the spot.
When media persons asked as to how could the PULF cadres sneak to the airport enroute to Guwahati, the police officer said it could not be confirmed yet as the matter is still under investigation.
To another question whether there were strong pressure from the MLAs and Ministers against the State police following the arrest of the PULF cadres, the police officer said that there was no pressure from any quarter.
He further clarified that no search operation was undertaken by police at the residential quarter of one Minister at Babupara yesterday night.
However, police did searched for one Moulavi in connection with monetary demand, he added.
According to information received from police, the two PULF cadres arrested yesterday from Imphal airport were on their way to Guwahati to attend a meeting of the outfit with its chairman Md Azad Khan alias Abdul Kalam alias Raju alias Asif s/o Md Jalil of Irong Litan Makhong.
It has also been learnt that KNA had taken six weapon from PULF.
