Lamka, Aug 07: Villagers of Saidan were still reeling under the nightmarish experience they had last night when media persons visited the village this morning.

Two rival UG groups began training their guns on one another since 4 pm yesterday and this lasted till the wee hours of today.

A Maruti Gypsy and a motorbike were charred in the aftermath of the battle while more than a dozen residential houses bore multiple bullet marks.

Most villagers fled to the jungles for the night as chances of getting caught in the cross fire was high.

Empty cases of automatic weapons, lethod bombs and blood stain were seen as people returned to their normal duties.

Accounts from villagers rumored that the duel was between HPC (D) and HNA, though no organization has so far claimed their involvement.

Meanwhile another weired incident today haunts the region as a tortured and mutilated body of a man who was reportedly missing since Friday has been recovered on the riverbed of Khuga at Leisang village, about nine kilimetres from here.

Ginliandou alias Dodou (30), a father of three and rickshaw puller in profession was allegedly suffering from mental illness whenever his health deflates, and on Friday he is said to be just recovering from a high fever.

The hope of his wife and three children to find their sole bread earner alive was shattered and another mentally-ill individual has again fallen prey in the hands of the highly suspicious and factional bigots, who usually were at ease to accuse their dead victim as cohorts of their enemy.
