C Doungel, others join BJP

Imphal, July 03 2014: Former Minister C Doungel, former spokesman of Trinamool Congress State unit RK Shivchandra and Kh Ibomcha who contested the last Assembly election in Lamlai A/C on Trinamool Congress ticket have joined the BJP.

All three of them and their associates and followers who joined the BJP were accorded a warm reception at the party's Nityapat Chuthek office today.

Speaking at the occasion, BJP State unit president Th Chaoba welcomed all the new entrants and claimed that the party can carry out many development works for the State in consultation with the political leaders who have joined BJP anew.

Saying that the incumbent Congress Government has mastered the art of graft practices, Chaoba pointed out that people of Manipur elected 42 Congress MLAs with a view to keep a stable Government and bring rapid development in the State.

Knowing that they would not be re-elected any more, the Government, rather than working for development of the State, has only escalated the scale of corruption.

Whereas the existing transport infrastructure has been debilitating, the Government does not bother to take up any measures to address the burgeoning problem of unemployment.

Still the Government sees no reason to intervene even though the prices of all essential commodities have been soaring.

Contrary to all the people's expectations of a stable Government, the Government has thrown away all senses of accountability and responsibility, Chaoba asserted.

C Doungel said that he joined the BJP with a firm belief that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Government can definitely set up a clean, effective and corruption free Government in the State.

Doungel said that he has full faith in the leadership of State unit president Th Chaoba.

RK Shivchandra exuded that BJP can certainly bring some revolutionary changes in Manipur in terms of governance and development.

Kh Ibomcha said that he joined BJP in order to strengthen BJP and help Prime Minister Narendra Modi translate his vision into action.

Ibomcha said he did not join BJP alone.

Trinamool Congress Lamlai Kendra committee and other frontal organisations were dissolved before around 4000 members joined BJP.
