North AOC probe to cover State force

Imphal, January 03: Intent on cracking the North AOC gun attack on December 31 night in which two persons were killed, while another was seriously injured, Imphal West police have registered a case and started a probe, convering even security personnel.

Speaking to The Sangai Express a well placed source said that since some fingers of suspicion have been pointed at the State force, the Imphal West police have started recording the statements of witnesses and added that the investigation will cover all angle, including the possible involvement of police, MR and IRB personnel in the case.

The source however admitted that the police are yet to establish fully establish who launched the gun attack on the three civilians.

Two civilians, Simthar Tangkhul (60) of Somdal village in Ukhrul district and staying at Tribal Colony New Chekon and Loitongbam Govind (30) of Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai were killed in the firing.
