Imphal, February 13:
Taking pot shots at the BSEM over its failure to make the text books available on time, DESAM today said that the primary reason for the delay was because many of the writers selected to author the text books are also members of the Board.
In a statement, the student body also accused the Board of allowing outside influence to come into play while constituting the Syllabus Committee and added that the syllabus was chalked out at the behest of some vested interest people.
The result is the totally lop sided content of the text books, which has posed a big problem to the young students, said DESAM.
The student body also questioned why university teachers had to be roped in to write the text books for the school kids while leaving the teachers who are in constant touch with the young students out in the cold.
This is not implying that the university teachers are unfit, said DESAM explaining that the work for children is something different from higher studies.
The earlier agreement that teachers will be made to undergo orientation course has not been implemented, added the student body and why this so.
The BSEM should pull up its socks and put its house in order or else it will go to the dogs one day, it added.
