Dr Dhanabir Laishram justified the demand for holding plebiscite and said it needs to be discussed thoroughly.
However, before taking up the issue with the Government of India, the existing internal conflicts among the communities and organisations in Manipur need to be resolved first, he maintained.
In a similar vein, K Madhumangol said every section of people in Manipur should discuss and know the issue of plebiscite beforehand as there is every likelihood that India Government would not simply consider it.
For this a mass movement of the people is required, he added.
Haobam Sanajaoba cautioned the people against various tactics and suppressive measures being adopted and said they should be well-aware of all these so that they do not fall easy prey and retain their unique identities.
Langamba categorically stated that the responses given by some of the Indian leaders to the demand for holding plebiscite show lack of thorough knowledge of the Indian Constitution on their part.
