Imphal, April 25 2009: The District Magistrate of Imphal West has imposed restriction of assembling of five or more persons under Sub-section 2 of Section 144 CrPC in areas within Imphal West district with effect from10am of April 25 .

The prohibitory order issued by the Imphal West District Magistrate, A Ibocha Singh said that the order is issued for prevention of breach of peace, disturbances to public tranquility and danger to human lives and properties and to prevent riot or affray which are likely to occur as per police report.

According to the order, the restriction will be in force until further order to this effect is issued.

It added that those who want to take out procession relating to marriage, funeral and religious purposes may obtain permission from the DM, Imphal West.
