The All Manipur Youth Protection Committee (AMYPCO) had organized a discussion meeting on the issue of the fading of Sericulture farms and its departmental functioning and measures to develop Sericulture in the state at the community hall of Wangbal, Thoubal today.
Additional Director Thoubal District Sericulture Department, Dr K Nimaichand and Vice President AMYPCO head office, Ch Shamu took part at the meeting as presidium members said a statement of AMYPCO.
In-charges of various district sericulture Co-operative Federation, leaders of eight Societies and 132 FOU leaders took part at the meeting today.
The meeting discussed measures to develop the partially fading farms of sericulture in detail.The meeting claimed the reason being lack of knowledge and sincerity by the farmers, lack of weather control and adult rearing house construction knowledge, lack of provision of knowledge to the farmer by the circle in charges and lack of equipments etc.
The meeting unanimously resolved to meet on May 7 next with all related documents to further discuss and rectify the ailing problem in Sericulture.
