Assam Rifles holds peace meeting with Naga and Kuki CSOs in Senapati and Kangpokpi

Imphal, February 10 2026:
In an effort to prevent the spillover of tensions from Litan and Ukhrul into Senapati and Kangpokpi districts, the Assam Rifles held a series of meetings on February 10 with Naga and Kuki civil society organisations (CSOs) at Senapati.
As per a release issued by the IGAR (East), the interaction with NPO, centred on existing tensions, movement of displaced persons, the need to prevent escalation, misinformation, peaceful coexistence and mutual resolution of pending issues.
The NPO also reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining peace in the region.
At Kangpokpi.
Assam Rifles urged restraint in the meeting with COTU, Kuki Inpi and KSO and cautioned against rumours that could inflame the situation.
Reaffirming its dedication to public safety, the Assam Rifles stated that it remains committed to maintaining peace and harmony among all communities in Manipur.
