The 10th Rising Day of the Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) was observed on March 29 last at the Front's General Headquarter at Sinai camp in a grand manner, Secretary, Information and Publicity, UKLF, JM Zou informed in a somewhat belated press release today.
Defence Secretary of Kuki Army, UKLF, Pu Joshua unfurled the flag and read out the message of UKLF Chief which was followed by condolence salute in remembrance of UKLF cadres who had sacrificed their lives for the cause of the Kuki nation, JM Zou said in the press release.
He further informed that village chiefs, leaders of several civil organisations and the general public attended the celebration.
Cultural troupes of various tribes such as Thadou, Zou, Vaiphei, Kom, Aimol, Anal, etc.
presented colourful and echanting cultural dances on the occasion.
Traditional red blankets were distributed to more than 90 village chiefs as a mark of honour and love.
A souvenir was also released in commemoration of the occasion.
Unfortunately due to reasons of security, invitations could not be extended to colleagues of other UPF members and media, JM Zou lamented.
"Let's look forward to the next 11th Rising Day without any trouble and hindrance," he added.
