29 police personnel get gallantry awards, three get service awards

Imphal, August 14 2010: After a gap of one year, Manipur Police has once again come out as the highest achiever of various national awards of police in entire India this time.

In all, 32 personnel of Manipur Police have been named for various awards including gallantry and meritorious service this year.

Among them 12 police officers including Senior Superintendent of Police, Imphal West district, L Kailun, IPS and Additional Superintendent of Police (Operations), Imphal West district, Dr AK Jhalajit and 17 other ranks of Manipur Police Department have been awarded Police Medal for Gallantry on the occasion of the Independence Day 2010 .

One police officer has been awarded President's Police Medal for Distinguished service (PPDS) and two other personnel have been awarded Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

They are: Mohammad Alimuddin, Inspector, Imphal East Dist�President's Police Medal for Distinguished service (PPDS); Md Chaoba, Inspector of Police, Lilong-ps and W Bormani Singh, Subedar, 2 Bn, mr�Police Medal for Meritorious Service (Pmms).
