Trucks enroute to Jiribam
Source: The Sangai Express
Imphal, September 11 2011:
Altogether 624 empty trucks which had lined up at Keithelmanbi for the past few days left along NH-37 to fetch goods today.
The trucks were supposed to leave yesterday but the plan had to be aborted as the drivers along with their helpers staged a sit-in-protest against the poor security cover provided to them during the arduous journey through NH-37 .
The condition of the route has only made things worse for the drivers and the transporters.
Situation was brought under control after the president of TDC rushed there and pacified the agitated drivers.
