Compensation due to all the victims of eviction for expansion of NH 39 from Singh & Co oil pump, Yaiskul to Singjamei Bazar will be provided within a short time.
This was assured by Chief Minister O Ibobi in response to a query raised by MLA E Kunjeshwar.
So far, Rs 2,72,78,143 has been given as compensation for acquisition of land and another Rs 5,74,89,095 for eviction of buildings,
Ibobi informed.
Following complaints of the affected people to increase compensation rate, the aggregate compensation amount has been raised by Rs 2.73 crores after re-assessment, he said.
Assuring that the remaining amount will be given soon, Ibobi asserted that road expansion and drainage construction works will be completed by December this year.
Responding to a question put up by MLA Daokhomang Khongsai, Ibobi disclosed that plans are afoot to complete construction of office buildings and quarters of SDO/BDO Saikul Block by July.
To another query of MLA Y Irabot, the Chief Minister conveyed that the road from Hatta Minuthong to JN Hospital known as Ayangpalli Road has been upgraded to the status of an OVR.
Clarifying that there is no plan to expand the road as of now, he nevertheless, assured that he would look into the possibility of expanding the road.
The Chief Minister further stated that the State Government is making serious consideration to hand over the development work of Churachandpur town-Tipaimukh section of NH 150 to BRO.
Reminding that work has been initiated in a 100 km long stretch of the highway after it was entrusted to BRO, he confided that the remaining portion would also be handed over to BRO.
For the same road development work, BRO has been engaging 500 labourers and Rs 651.67 lakhs released till date, Ibobi said responding to a question raised by MLA Ngursanglur.
In response to a query of MLA Khangthuanang Panmei, Minister of Forest Debendra informed that with the help of financial support extended by the Union Government efforts are being put in to face any eventuality that may result from bamboo flowering in Tamenglong district.
So far, Rs 280.55 lakhs has been spent towards this end, he added.
Out of the estimated cost of Rs 25 crores, Rs 10 crores has been released for the development of IT road which is targeted for completion by March 2009, said Ibobi responding to MLA Awangbow Newmai.
Acknowledging that Moirang sub-Treasury Office is functioning from DC Office complex Lamphelpat, the Chief Minister, in response to a question of MLA M Manindra, assured that as soon as the RBI allows keeping currency chest in SBI Moirang branch, the sub-Treasury Office will be shifted
to Moirang.
