A Cabinet meeting under the chair of the Chief Minister, O Ibobi today agreed to the implementation of recommendation of Sixth Pay Commission from coming April.
The Cabinet meeting held at the Cabinet Room of the Chief Minister's secretariat also approved to the enhancement of scholarship amount awarded to the students of the Sainik School, Imphal provided by the state government.
The state Cabinet meet has agreed to implement pay structures of the Central government employees recommended by the Sixth Pay Commission to the employees of the state government with effect from April this year, informed minister, N Biren, spokesperson of the SPF ministry today after the Cabinet meeting over.
Mention may be made here that Chief Minister, O Ibobi has given assurances to its employees to implement the pay structure recommended by the Sixth Pay Commission from April 2010 at several occasion during the election rallies in the Parliamentary election held in April 2009 .
State government also included Rs 4,000 crore out of total amount of Rs 25,000 crores proposal put up to the 12th Finance Commission for grant to the state for provision of 6th pay commission to its employees.
