Giving a cold reception to the proposed visit of the Chief Minister to Thanlon and PArbung, five student bodies of Churachandpur HAS, ZSF, KSO and MZPtoday declared its decision to boycott the anticipated visit.
"Unleashing a reign of terror in the hill areas of Manipur" and four others reasons relating to issues concerning landmines to civil supplies were furnished as rationale for the boycott.
"In a befitting retaliation to the wanton neglect and discrimination committed by Ibobi's Government on Memorandum of Understanding Sans Implementation, the Chief Minister and his entourage deserve nothing more than tribal's anger, frustration and total boycott" maintained the students in its press release.
The student bodies have also called on the general populace to support the boycott to show solidarity to the victims of landmines and mass rape in the interest of justice and tribal unity which, the release alleged was perpetrated by non-tribal cadres.
The student bodies also insisted an outright halt in disbursing three months electricity bills which the department despite, an MoU with the Government on the contrary, is in the process of disbursing them.
The public is fervently appeal not to pay the bills till an amicable solution is reached added the students espouse that No Due Certificate should not be insist upon employees for disbursement of their salaries.
In addition, the Joint Students Bodies alleged that shortage of drinking water in the district has turned from bad to worst and calls on the intervention of its concern department to content he crisis on war footing action.
