Imphal, January 08: Taking serious note of the volatile situation and violent activities in Churachandpur district following the killing of IGP (Intelligence) Thangthuam, State and para military forces have been deployed in all parts of Churachandpur district.

This was disclosed by Information Minister, Gaikhangam while briefing mediapersons at Congress Bhavan today.

He further asserted that even though the situation in the aftermath of Thangthuam's killing remains tense in Churchandpur district, it is well under control. Additional forces would be deployed as a precautionary measure in the district to avert and thwart any unfortunate incident, informed Gaikhangam while observing that the death of Thangthuam is unfortunate.

He further remarked that no one should take advantage of this tragic incident to turn their wrath against civil population which may in turn flare up the dreaded communal clash.
