Imphal, November 19: Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh will call on the AIFF President Priya Ranjan Das Munshi during his stay in New Delhi and hold discussion on the referee�s misconduct ruining Manipur�s progress in the ongoing Santosh Trophy football championship.

The CM is set to leave for the national capital tomorrow.

Sports Minister Govindas Konthoujam told reporters that all issues arising out of the lackluster performance of the match officials and public outcry figured prominently during a meeting convened by the Chief Minister today.

Informing that YAS Commissioner Ch Biren was also present in the meeting, Govindas conveyed of the CM�s utter disappointment at frequent attempts to suppress talented sportspersons of Manipur.

The CM is informed to have expressed strong resentment on Manipur deprived of entering the final in the previous edition of the national Football Championship at Delhi when a goal scored by Manipur denied by the match officials on ground that the scorer�s boot got loose.

Similar sentiment was expressed by the CM on the all-Manipur Indian sepak takraw team denied participation at a recent international competition, said the Sports Minister adding the CM is feeling agitated over the attitude of Indian mainland frequently denting aspiration of Manipur players.
