Even as the SPF Cabinet has decided to hand over the fake appointment cases in the School Education Dept to the CBI, the Government has detected yet another 173 ad-hoc teachers appointed on the sly.
Disclosing this to The Sangai Express, a highly placed source said that the fake appointment cases of 173 teachers came to the light after the Government verified the files and documents of 652 teachers who were appointed on ad-hoc basis ten years back.
With the Department coming to know of the fake appointment cases of the ad-hoc teachers during the course of its investigation, the Government has taken up the necessary steps to personally verify the records of each of the 173 teachers and dismiss them from service.
The source further that due investigation will be conducted to see whether the ad-hoc teachers were appointed due to necessity or whether there was any foul play involved.
Fitting action will be taken up against all the guilty, he added.
On the number of ad-hoc employees appointed in different Government Departments currently, the source said that at present there are two ad-hoc employees in Tribal Development, four in Environment and Ecology Wing, four in Art and Culture, four in Agriculture, one in Forest, one in Social Welfare, eleven in Fishery, 27 in Technical Education, 18 in Veterinary, nine in CADA, 23 in FCS, 25 in SCERT, 17 in Higher Education, 22 in Horticulture, 27 in Commerce and Industries, five in Sports Dept, two in Health, two in Adult Education, three in Works Dept, 51 in Power Dept, three in Revenue Dept, 25 in Family Welfare, one in Vigilance, four in PHED and 652 in Education (S).
Ad-hoc employees whose services have been extended with the words, �until further order,� include 52 in Adult Education, 121 in Revenue, seven in Commerce and Industries and 37 in Education (S).
