Imphal, September 06:
Even though reports of the verification process of Government school teachers have been presented to the Education Department by the respective Deputy Commissioners, the Department is finding it hard to weed out the fake teachers from the genuine ones.
According to an informed source, all the verification reports have been submitted to the Education Department by the DCs on completion of the verification drive started some months back after the KYKL blew the lid off the large scale fake appointments in the department.
The Education Department officials are faced with the arduous tasks of segregating the genuine teachers from the fakes as the verification reports lack clarity due to record mix-up.
Explaining, the source said that the DCs reports categorised the exercise asgroup of teachers failing to show up for verification process; second group as lacking proper documents; genuine groups and fake groups.
Stating that the Education Department has not received any positive response from the higher authorities to furnish a detailed report on the categorised teachers, the source said precise status of some 20 teachers could not be established as their names have been listed in the fake group for failing to produce original appointment order.
Moreover, record (appointment order) maintained by the department and those possessed by the employees do not match, said the source and pointed to the necessity of re-examining the entire process to detect the faults.
On the other hand, the source conveyed that the CBI is yet to reciprocate to State Cabinet decision of roping in their service to probe the fake appointment cases.
