Imphal, October 30 2008: MANIPUR PEACE and Integrity Council, MAPI Council will celebrate this year ningol chakkouba with grant feast at Palace compound which would be participated by women of different communities residing in the hills and valley areas of the state.

Women hailing from far off hill areas have started arriving at the Palace from this evening with the gifts, informed the MAPI Council at a press conference held today at its office at Palace Compound.

Among the women arrived it included from Layang village, Layang Khunou village, New Somtal, Kasom Khullen, Khamason and Liyai village.

Not like the previous years, hills women will stay at the houses of the Meeteis for the night.

It has been arranged with an objective of strengthening the bond of love among the different communities residing in the state, said the organizers.

They will turn up to the Palace and will have interaction with the titular king Sanajaoba before taking meal together.

A tour programme at Loktak lake at Moirang, they said.
