Ema Kombi remembered on her 6th death anniversary

Imphal, February 01 2010: The 6th death anniversary of Ema Kombi, the leader of the Poirei Leimarol Meira Paibi Apunba Lup was observed today with a function held at GM Hall, Imphal with the participation of womenfolk of several Meira Paibi groups and social organisations.

The observance function was graced by Thounaojam Iboyaina, father of social as chief guest.

It was presided over by president of PLMPAL, Longjam ongbi Memchoubi.

Moirangthem Keinahanbi also attended as guest of honour.

Speakers in the observance recalled the works of Ema Kombi as a leader of the Meira Paibis who was born on January 5, 1932 at Kwakeithel Konjeng Leikai and died on this day six year back.

Chief guest of the function, Iboyaima said Kombi is remembered because of her works for the welfare of the society and of the people of the state.

She had scarified her home work and took lead role in confronting with the security forces for their excessive action towards the civil populace.
