Imphal, June 20 2009: Additional director of education S Geeta who has been transferred as in-charge chairperson of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur has been placed under suspension from her service by an order of the commissioner, education (s) issued on June 18 allegedly for refusing to join to the place of her latest posting place.

Meanwhile, a source said that the suspension of the additional director of education (s) is not related with the case pending in the Guwahati High Court with regard to her transfer as in-charge chairperson.

Mention may be made that S Geeta did not joint to her posting place amidst the controversy arising out of question of her qualification as chairperson as stated by a students body in the recent time.

Against her transfer as council's chairperson, Geeta filed a petition to the court and did not join to the post. The government order placing her from the service stated it was related with disciplinary action against her.
