Imphal, September 09, 2009: Vice-President of All Manipur Recognised Private Schools'Welfare Association (AMRPSWA), Doren Khaba-Nganba has today urged for the withdrawal of the class boycott call given in the state while saying that it lacks good reason.

He was speaking at the observance programme of the 4th 'Private School Day'today at the Manipur Dramatic Union (MDU) Hall here.

Doren Kh further appealed the people to bear the hardships faced by around 470 recognised private schools of the state.

He said the association has been formed in 2005 against the backdrop of unbearable monetary demands to private schools.

He lamented that the government has paid little attention to the association while noting that the private schools are the producers of toppers in Board examinations.

Doren further said the Central Committee of the association will discuss to exempt the recognised private schools from any monetary demand from all quarters from 2010.The same will also be discussed at the general body level.

The occasion was graced by AMRPSWA Advisor, N Tomba, president of the association H Bira, and vice-president of AMRPSWA Doren Khaba-Nganba and ex-president of the association Shyama Khaba as the chief guest, president, and guests of honour respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, N Tomba observed that private schools have taken a great role in the field of education in the state.

He urged all the members of the association to extend cooperation in its endeavour.

He also conveyed that the association has decided to extend assistances to children who lost their parents in 'unfortunate'events.

Tomba said, it is natural that the learning process of the students will be impeded if the number of days of learning is reduced.

He noted that students of the state have lesser days of learning.

He said, the present unrest in the state could have been solved plainly, but due to lack of accepted wisdom on the part of the leader, the problem is continuing to haunt the people.

Shyama Khaba observed that academic atmosphere of the state has been greatly affected post Khwairamband incident.

This will disadvantage the students, who are going to appear the final examinations in November.

Stating that more problems can arise in the next academic year, Shyama said the members of the association should try to strengthen the force of the association in order to overcome them.

The function was attended by teachers of various schools of the state.

Prizes were also given to five highest mark scorers in the class X and XII examinations.

A souvenir was also released on the occasion.
