AR, AIFB celebrate 122nd birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

Imphal, January 23 2019: To mark 122nd birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised a visit of school students to All India Radio Station located at Mayang Imphal today.

Radio has forever played an important role in youth awakening and communication including Netaji's speeches on Azad Hind Radio, back in the 1940s from Singapore and Rangoon.

The visit by the school students to the Radio Station was organised to commemorate the 122nd birth anniversary and as a tribute to the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, said a statement of PRO IGAR (South).

Over 50 students of the Sur Rashi Elite School, Mayang Imphal were taken to the AIR Station, Mayang Imphal.

The students were explained in detail along with live demonstrations on the functioning of the radio station.

The students were also given hands on experience on broadcasting radio programmes.

The students were briefed about the functioning of various departments and interacted with the staffs of the station, said the statement.

The students showed tremendous curiosity and keen interest in understanding the process and various procedures involved in radio transmission.

Some of them even got motivated to take up Radio Jockey as their profession when they grow up, said AR.

The unique exposure to the radio station provided by the Battalion to the school students on the auspicious day was widely appreciated by the parents and the school authorities, in having broken the monotony of regular routine, as well as of giving them an opportunity in increasing bonhomie with the Assam Rifles, added the statement of the Assam Rifles.

AIFB celebrates: All India Forward Bloc (AIFB), Manipur State Committee observed 122nd birth anniversary of Netaji Shubhas Chandra Bose at Manipur Press Club, Imphal today.

AIFB Manipur State Committee chairman Khwairakpam Apanthou Mangang, State secretary Khomdram Gyaneswor, MTDS president Y Iboyaima, former Editor of Meeyam Jugol and JD (S) secretary K Loken attended the event as presidium members.

Speaking on the occasion, AIFB State secretary Kh Gyaneswor encouraged the people of the State especially youths to study the role Subhas Chandra Bose played in Nation building.

Taking the opportunity of the event, he denounced the Citizenship Amendment Bill passed in the Lok Sabha recently.

The Bill he said is against the interest of the indigenous people.

All the organisations and political parties based in the North-East should unite and collectively fight against the Bill, he said.
