Duplicate licenses creates chaos

Imphal, December 08 2010: The shifting of women vendors to the new Ima Market-I has been going on since December 6 .

Women vendors were shifted upto shed number 15 till yesterday.

However the shifting work stopped today due to the general strike of KCP (MC) over the issue of the staged arrest of UNLF Chairman, RK Meghen.

Three women with duplicate licenses were discovered on rechecking licenses as shed 15 became overcrowded.

The three women were handed over to the authority.

However it became an issue.

Women vendors are still amazed on how IMC issued duplicate licenses to these women.

They expressed concern over the possibility of other duplicate licenses from others who are yet to be shifted to the remaining sheds.

Women vendors appealed to the SPF government to look after the matter to avoid any untoward incidents.

They charged IMC for corruption in issuing licenses to women vendors.
