Imphal, January 28 2010: An interaction programme with chiefs and villagers around Singheu COB of 8 AR was held on January 24 .

Taking part in the interaction programme, the Commandant of 8 AR advised on proper utilisation of NREGA funds for development of the area.

He attended to the problems and grievances of the locals about poor condition of roads, lack of basic amenities like drinking water, medical facilities and electricity.

He assured that problems would be projected to civil authorities and endeavour would be made to carry out development activities on priority, said an AR PRO release.

AR celebrates R-Day:26 Sector of Hqs IG AR (S) celebrated the 61st Republic Day in Chandel district together with the local people.

Events started with hoisting of tricolour at Pallel, conveyed an AR PRO release.

Speaking on the occasion, Commander 26 Sector Brig SK Bhanot complimented all ranks of 26 Sector for keeping insurgency situation in Chandel district under control.

Republic Day celebrations were held at Chandel, Tengnoupal, Moreh, Sehlon, Tuitong, Joupi, Moltuk and Sajik Tampak, it added.
