The students of Moreh Higher Secondary School and Moreh High School today flung books in front of of the Addl Deputy Commissioner, Moreh putting pressure on the authority to fulfill their demands which include appointment of a regular Principal of the Moreh Government Higher Secondary School.
An indefinite bandh on Imphal-Moreh road called by the KSO, Chandel and AMSU, Moreh has been going on for the past few days.
About 600 students belonging to the schools came to the office of ADC Moreh, Lunminthang Haokip around 11 am today.
The students stood in front of the office complex of the ADC, which was being guarded by state security personnel, and asked the ADC to come out to talk to them.
ADC Haokip came out of his office and called the students inside the campus.
The students asked the ADC about the reply of the government to their demands which were given in a memorandum.
However the ADC said he did not receive the memorandum.
The students then told him that when they came to meet him, he was not in present in the office, so they handed over the memorandum to the SDC.
When Haokip said that he did not know about it, the students got angry and threw their books toward the ADC.
The students left their books and went away.
A joint team of MSU and KSO has left Moreh for Imphal to meet the authority concerned and know the government's stand.
