A week long 78th National Integration camp aimed at organized by Nehru Yuba Sangathan with the objective to strengthen the love bond among different communities kicked off at Kangsang of the Khuman Lampak Sport complex with an inaugural function attended by state youth affairs and sports minister, N Biren as chief guest.
The inaugural function was also attended by MANITRON chairman MLA, Kh Ratankumar and MLA I Hemochandra as president and guest of honour respectively.
Speaking as chief guest, minister N Biren thanked the Union ministry of youth affairs and sports for selecting Imphal as venue of the national integration camp stating that Manipur is a state of the country having its own history of more than two thousand year long and inhabitant by different communities together.
The camp will give an opportunity to the youths of the state interaction with youths coming from other states of the country and will help in promotion of unity and solidarity of the country.
It will also help in eliminating ideology of communalism.
Giving key note address of the integration camp, zonal director of the Nehru Kendra Sangathan, J Ruivah stating that youths are the strength of the country expressed believed that conducting such camp will help in the exchange of culture among the youths and bring closure each others.
It will also help in respecting each others among the youths, he added.
In the national integration camp which would continue till June 25 around 87 youths coming from Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Hariyana, Tripura and from the state.
Chief guest also opened a exhibition stall on the occasion.
