Manipur shines at BIOFACH organic trade fair in Germany

Imphal, February 10 2026: Organic food stalls from Manipur are attracting the world's attention at BIOFACH Germany 2026, which kicked off today at Nuremberg Exhibition Centre in Germany.

BIOFACH is the leading trade fair for organic food in the world and is set to conclude on February 13 .

Held under the theme of "Growing Tomorrow: Young Voices, Bold Vision", representatives of six organic farmer producer companies from different parts of the State under the Mission Organic Value Chain Development For North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER) are taking part in the trade fair.

They are accompanied by Additional Chief Secretary (Agriculture) Vivek Kumar Dewangan; Horticulture & Soil Conservation Director K Debdutta and Agriculture Department Director Peter Salam.

With the participation of over 2,200 exhibitors, BIOFACH 2026 is expected to draw roughly 35,000 visitors.

Organic food items such as white silky rice, chak-hao, turmeric, ginger, sirarakhong chilli and oo-morok produced by organic farmer producer companies of Manipur are on display at BIOFACH 2026 .
