3-day Catholic Congress begins in Imphal

Imphal, February 20, 2010: Three-day catholic congress of the Catholic of Merry Immaculate Parish which comes after eight years began here today at Don Bosco, Chingmeirong under the theme "Let your light shine".

Archbishop of Imphal and Nagaland, Most Rev Dominic Lumon, DD graced inaugural function of the congress as chief guest.

He also unfurled flag of the catholic congress to mark the beginning of the congress.

The Catholic Christian Congress is being organised with the objective of bringing peace, harmony and brotherhood love in the state.

During the congress, Christians coming across the state will be given chances to express their feelings, he said.

On the second of the congress a mass procession to spread the massage of peace will be marched on the streets in Imphal and the concluding third day will be marked by presentation of traditional and cultural dances of north eastern states like Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Tripura, Meghalaya etc.
