31st Raising Day of Ex-Servicemen Association Bishnupur observed at Moirang

The Ex-Servicemen Association, Bishnupur District, celebrated its 31st Raising Day today at Sainik Bhavan, Moirang, with solemn remembrance and renewed commitment to the welfare of former defence personnel and their families.
The programme was graced by Hemam Sharat Singh, president of the Ex-Servicemen Association, Bishnupur; secretary T Bimol; Zila Sainik Board secretary Th Sivadatta; Ex-Servicemen Association, Bishnupur, vice-president H Nilamani; and veteran Ex-Servicemen S Rameshwor, as chief guest, president and guests of honour, respectively.
The event began with floral tributes to the portraits of departed members of the association, followed by a two-minute silence in their honour.
As a mark of recognition, executive members who participated in the ex-servicemen contingent during the 77th Republic Day celebration of India were felicitated with Lengyan presented by the association president.
The ceremony that included the participation of Vir Naris, widows of fallen soldiers, and members of the association also deliberated on various welfare-related issues concerning former service personnel.
In his address, president H Sharat highlighted that with the establishment of the association, it has been able to extend support and assistance to many pensioners, families of martyrs, and those who had taken voluntary retirement.
He emphasized that the welfare activities undertaken by the association are meant for the nation's larger interest, not for individual gain.
To ensure the association's continued growth and relevance for future generations, he urged members to work with sincerity, dedication and unity, reiterating the commitment to strengthen welfare initiatives in the years ahead.
