Imphal, December 08 2010:
The Eco historical park constructed by Maharaja Garibniwaj Memorial Club with public help near Ningthem Pukhri Mapal, Wangkhei was inaugurated today.
Commerce and Industry Minister, Y Erabot graced the inaugural function as chief guest.
MLA Th Nandakishore was the function's president.
MLA, E Suraj, Commissioner, State Tourism department, KK Chhettry and Diretor, Arts and Culture, Dr K Sobita also attended the function as guests of honour.
In a speech, KK Chhettry said that the tourist spots in the state are in a poor condition due to lack of development works.
Tourism in the state will develop if the condition of electricity, transport, and law and order is improved.
Concerned departments should carry outtheir work with sincerity to develop tourism in the state.
Around Rs 15,81,000 were invested in developing the park.
It has statues of King Garibniwaj, Maibia Tamra Singh and Hijam Irabot.
The park also has a library.
