Awareness programme on "Illegal Adoption & Child Trafficking" conducted

Kakching, October 08 2025: A one-day sensitization programme for Anganwadi and ASHA workers of Kakching district on "Illegal Adoption & Child Trafficking" was conducted at Mukta Shoes Industry Hall located at Kakching Moirangthem Leikai today.

The programme was organised by District Child Protection Unit, Kakching, Department of Social Welfare Manipur under the District Administration Kakching.

Notable dignitaries include Padma Shree Moirangthem Muktamani, proprietor, Mukta Shoes Industry and Gajoo Rajkumari, District Child Protection Officer, District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Kakching as presidium members.

At the event, Gyanilaxmi Thongam, Programme Manager, State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) Manipur tackled the subject of illegal adoption while Mala Lisham, Programme Officer, State Child Protection Society (SCPS), Social Welfare Department spoke about the issue of child trafficking.
