Imphal, October 30 2008: TROOPS OF 12 Maratha LI of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) yesterday arrested two underground activists.

A press note issued by the Public Relations Officer, HQ IGAR (South) stated that on receiving a tip off, the troops launched operation in general area Takyel and arrested one KYKL cadre.

On spot interrogation, the arrested cadre, identified as Longjam Anand Singh @ Anand (32) of Takyel works in the finance section of the outfit.

He has been handed over to Nambol Police Station yesterday itself, the press note stated.

In another incident, troops of 34 Assam Rifles of 9 Sector under HQ IGAR (South) launched operation in general area Thoubal Bazar and apprehended one KCP (MC) (Lanheiba group) cadre on October 29 .

The individuals is identified as SS Pvt Huidrom Nanao Singh, (20) of Haokha Maning Leikai.

The arrested person has been handed over to Thoubal Police Station on that day itself, the press note stated.
