Three persons were arrested on Tuesday, February 23 for stealing a white bolero belonging to Akho Angami, president of the NCP, Ghaspani-II A/C.The three accused were apprehended near Senapati when the owner of the vehicle, who was in search of the stolen vehicle, happened to come across a white �Bolero' jeep and pressed his central locking device.
The bolero in front of him beeped and then sped away.
The reaction made the search party suspicious and after a short chase, the party caught up with the stolen vehicle at a car wash before reaching Senapati.
Angami said that the bolero (NL07-5544) was stolen from his residence on the night of February 19 last.
It was recovered at a place near Senapati in Manipur on February 23 with the help of Radha Binod Koijam, former chief minister of Manipur who is also the present leader of opposition, United Naga Council, All Naga Students' Association of Manipur, Mao Council and Senapati police led by the officer-in-charge Thes� and second officer-in-charge, Kashipri and the Medziphema Youth Organization.
The stolen �Bolero' was found with a different registration number - NL01C 7521, Angami added.
The three were identified as Alphonse (24 years), Laisram Landan Kumar (42 years) and Koide Mao (23 years) and were later handed over to the Medziphema police station.
